BE HEALTHY

A lot of people don't know this but I was once a couple of sizes bigger than what I am today. When I initially decided that I wanted to start being healthy it wasn't necessarily because I felt overweight it was because I felt unhealthy and lacked in energy and most importantly self confidence.

My health journey began back in 2011 when I decided to consciously make myself start eating healthier foods, better portions and exercise regularly. I lost a total of about 10kg spread out over a year. From doing these things I have a lot more energy and it's helped me feel better about myself. I know feeling good isn't just what's on the outside but also on the inside, so I am continually working on ways to improve my happiness every day.

This post is about my fitness regime and what works for me.. I love to do a combination of exercises to mix things up. For starters one thing I do is follow Lorna Jane via instagram (@lornajaneactive) for daily tips on pushing myself & keeping motivated. I am wearing Lorna Jane tops & bottoms in the images below. 

Indoor Exercise:  One way I love to exercise is by using Fitness Blender it's an online video workout channel you can do from home and its free. Some of my favorite workouts are a Fat Burning Cardio Workout, Pilates &  a Yoga & Pilates blend for a relaxing workout..There is a huge variety on the website so make sure you check them out for yourself on screen instructions & a trainer counting and pushing you.

Outdoor exercise: for me is a combination of walking, running & cycling either down at my local beach, or in the local area. Sometimes my partner and I head out to a national park and go walking and exploring. I also occasionally attend a group fitness training session in my local area which is called Keeping Up With PT Candy which is great for social interaction, meeting new people & getting the push you need to reach your goals. 

Some of my tips:
Drink a lot water to keep hydrated - Get a bit of sunshine each day for healthy Vitamin D levels - eat healthy balanced meals that give you energy not just make you full - aim for a positive mind set & put yourself around positive people and surroundings - strive to do the things that make you happy.

Personally I am really proud of myself for how far I have come today even though I still haven't reached all my fitness goals, I always have new goals to strive toward.
