I've always loved decorating ever since I was young.. I remember back when I was in school I used to re-decorate or re-arrange my room every month or so by moving my furniture & bits and pieces around! I loved being able to create a whole new room with the things I already owned just by shuffling things around and making it fresh & feel new again!
Over the weekend I hosted an afternoon tea/market stall at my house with a few friends with some healthy treats, snacks & tea.. the weather turned out absolutely beautiful so I was able to host it out on my back patio in the sunshine.. I wanted to create a happy, warm atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.. (knowing how cold it is getting being winter here on the Gold Coast) So i bought some happy blooms & went for a soft blue, yellow & white theme to brighten things up! Most things i used for decorations I already had or picked up a lot of it from my local cheap shop, it's amazing what bargains you can find!
I can admit I am a bit of a hoarder [Okay it could be a problem] and i tend to keep things even if I don't use them or wear them, thinking that one day maybe a use will come up for them.. on occasion it does, but most of the time it just takes up unnecessary space! A couple of weeks ago I had a huge clean out and put things into 3 piles.. 1 pile for a charity drop, 1 pile to sell at the markets and 1 pile of the things i'll be keeping in my wardrobe.. it was a breathe of fresh air!
Once I had cleared a lot of items into the 3 piles i came up with the idea to host a little market stall and invite a bunch of friends over to filter through my extremely full wardrobe.. I will be doing a public market stall in my local area very soon [Hopefully the Village Markets in Burleigh]. For anyone wanting to find some treasures be sure to keep an eye out here, on my Facebook or Instagram to keep in the loop!
[A big thank you to everyone who came along & a special thanks to Kate [The Whole Housewife] for making some delicious raw chocolate treats and for your & Grea's help with preperations for the afternoon & Kim [Kimberly Lauren Photography] for capturing some beautiful memories of the day!]
