GIVE PROCRASTINATION THE BOOT

Time wasting can affect the best of us! I for one can get a little distracted when I need to do something when working from a home office.. and I can imagine a lot of you are like me and get distracted by things. Procrastination comes in all different forms like snacking just because don't want to do something, cleaning that mess thats been sitting there for ages when you have a deadline for something but all of sudden it just needs to be done right now & getting distracted by social media.. like a video on youtube of a dog that can ride a skate board (its real, I have seen it & it's freakin' adorable!)

Wasting time can be a bit of habit so today I am going to give you a few tips below in giving it the boot & these a for me too, let us see if we can be more productive together & work on our time management skills!

1. MAKE A LIST
In the morning or the night before write a list of the things you have to do the next day, list them in order of importance - Ensure you tick each job or task off the list so that you can keep track of what you have completed and what is still to be done.

2. REMOVE DISTRACTIONS
So that you can get your tasks done efficiently remove all distractions from the area you are working in. If you are distracted by your mobile phone (hands up here, step away from Instagram). Sit your phone in another room or down the other end of the house if you need to have it on for important calls leave it somewhere you can hear it. If you don't need it for calls switch it off or on to silent for the duration of the task so you can get the job done distraction free.

3. SET A TIME LIMIT
Set yourself a time limit for the task at hand as to get it done efficiently. This doesn't mean that it's a race but if you have a time limit you won't feel as though you have all the time in the world to get something done. Once it's done it's done!

4. FIND MOTIVATION
Positive reinforcement is the most effective means of motivating yourself. Have a positive mood board in your workspace or a few sticky notes with positive encouraging quotes on them, catch a glance & know you can do it, just keep on going you are nearly there!

5. REWARD YOURSELF
The best way to keep yourself from procrastinating is to reward yourself for doing a good job & completing your tasks for the day. Whether it be a quick look at your phone for a social update, a square of dark chocolate (yum my favorite) or whatever makes you feel good celebrate how good you were!

Let's give procrastinating the boot & get things done on time ladies!! xx
