"LET ALL THAT YOU DO BE DONE IN LOVE".
We live in a very digital world nowadays and I feel that can be a good thing & a bad thing depending on how you look at it. I guess what I am trying to say is that sometimes in this modern day we aren't expressing ourselves in person nearly as much as in the past before the world wide web came into our lives. We are texting, calling, emailing, tweeting, instagraming (the list goes on) our thoughts & feelings with each other.
Yes there are totally positives to the fact that we are expressing ourselves & this is a wonderful thing to be able to express ourselves freely & so convinently but I think sometimes it is really nice to say, feel or do something in person or in an old fashioned way, in the moment so you have a real understanding of the sentiment or words being expressed to you.
I have decided this Valentine's Day to write a love letter to Jays.. and actually write it pen to paper and express how much he means to me in the ye old fashioned way. I absolutely love receiving letters.. I think back to my high school days and remember writing sneaky notes at school, posting letters to my friends (even though I saw them every day) & even having a pen pal in England.
This coming Valentine's Day or whenever you like I think you should write a letter, speak to someone in person & tell them how you feel about them. Write or speak to a friend, a lover, a family member or for something different write yourself a letter saying everything you love about yourself & open it in a years time.
HOW TO WRITE A LOVE LETTER
A few tips on how to hand write a love letter this Valentine's Day.
Tip #1: Write your letter on some nice stationary that may suit the person you are writing to.
Tip #2: Find a quiet, peaceful place to write the letter so you think about all the things you want to include in your letter. You could also write a list of the things you want to express in your letter so you have them in front of you.
Tip #3: The basis of your letter should include reasons why you love the person you are writing to, what makes them so wonderful to you & why you appreciate them. You could bring up when you first felt love for this person, how they affected your life in some way or even a moment that reminds you of why you love them.
Tip #4: Don't be too concerned about what your handwriting looks like if you haven't put pen to paper in a while just remember It's all about the meaning of your words. If you need to write a practice letter or two thats okay too.
Tip #5: Most importantly don't be afraid to write about how you really feel. You want your letter to be meaningful, real & from your heart.
