"LIVE IN THE SUNSHINE, SWIM IN THE SEA, DRINK THE WILD AIR". – RALPH WALDO EMERSON
As I sit here and write this morning sipping on green mint tea and listening to the rain trickle down my window it dawns on me that Summer has been gone now for eighteen days.. (say what!) Although it has felt like Summer here on the Gold Coast these past few weeks with hot days and humidity still.. the nights have been feeling much cooler and the sun is rising much later each morning.
Summer is one of my favorite seasons, in all it's carefree, sun filled, hot, happy glory! (ahh come back!). Now don't get me wrong I love different things about each season for sure..winter fashion and getting cozy in warm blankets on cold days and nights..dreamy! But I am most fond of the Summertime and love to keep it's memory fresh in my mind each year.
For me to keep it alive I love having photographs, ornaments and bits and pieces around my home that remind me of the Summer that was.. so on those gloomy cooler days when my toes just can't get warm I can take my mind to that beautiful warm blissful place & bask in all its memorable glory. (plus play 'Im walking on sunshine in the background" haha).

KEEPING SUMMER MEMORIES
A few tips on how to keep those Summertime memories alive:
Memory Box: Having a box full of memories of everything that made your Summer special and pulling it out when you need to refresh or dream. Fill it with polaroids, shells, precious gifts, letters, poems or whatever was special to you.
Photographs: Polaroids or photographs in frames on pinned into a board in your home can brighten your day each time you walk past them. Picture Postie is an app that creates beautiful printed memories straight from your Instagram feed, they are the modern day polaroid.
Memories In A Jar: Filling a jar with sand and shells from your local beach and having it on display in your home as a centre piece or bedside decoration.
Seaside Styling: Style you home with the beach in mind.. think anchors, stripes, coral ornaments and the list goes on to suit your style.
Music: One of my favourite ways of evoking memories and emotion is listening to music. It has a way of bringing you back to a certain moment as though you are actually there in your mind.
