"LIVE IN THE SUNSHINE, SWIM IN THE SEA, DRINK THE WILD AIR". – RALPH WALDO EMERSON

As I sit here and write this morning sipping on green mint tea and listening to the rain trickle down my window it dawns on me that Summer has been gone now for eighteen days.. (say what!) Although it has felt like Summer here on the Gold Coast these past few weeks with hot days and humidity still.. the nights have been feeling much cooler and the sun is rising much later each morning.

Summer is one of my favorite seasons, in all it's carefree, sun filled, hot, happy glory! (ahh come back!). Now don't get me wrong I love different things about each season for sure..winter fashion and getting cozy in warm blankets on cold days and nights..dreamy! But I am most fond of the Summertime and love to keep it's memory fresh in my mind each year.

For me to keep it alive I love having photographs, ornaments and bits and pieces around my home that remind me of the Summer that was.. so on those gloomy cooler days when my toes just can't get warm I can take my mind to that beautiful warm blissful place & bask in all its memorable glory. (plus play 'Im walking on sunshine in the background" haha).

KEEPING SUMMER MEMORIES

A few tips on how to keep those Summertime memories alive:

Memory Box: Having a box full of memories of everything that made your Summer special and pulling it out when you need to refresh or dream. Fill it with polaroids, shells, precious gifts, letters, poems or whatever was special to you.

Photographs: Polaroids or photographs in frames on pinned into a board in your home can brighten your day each time you walk past them. Picture Postie is an app that creates beautiful printed memories straight from your Instagram feed, they are the modern day polaroid.

Memories In A Jar: Filling a jar with sand and shells from your local beach and having it on display in your home as a centre piece or bedside decoration.

Seaside Styling: Style you home with the beach in mind.. think anchors, stripes, coral ornaments and the list goes on to suit your style.

Music: One of my favourite ways of evoking memories and emotion is listening to music. It has a way of bringing you back to a certain moment as though you are actually there in your mind.

Sometimes it is necessary to take the steps to flush out any negativity in your world! I've been doing it for a while now and focusing my energy on the things that are positive within my life.. it is so much better for your health, trust me!

Some may find this silly or insignificant but a little while ago I decided to stop following any people or pages I felt were not supporting my happiness or purpose on social media as it is part of my life using instagram for my job everyday. I felt at first "Oh but what if they see I've un-followed them and they think I hate them?" I thought about it more and It's just not like that and I think we all can get sick of following certain pages at times. So I feel that if they are no longer serving our happiness or providing a purpose to us then why follow them we shouldn't have to worry or feel stressed about hitting the unfollow button.

I decided to unfollow some pages that I'd followed in the past just recently because their pages were no longer brining happiness or positivity to my life. Removing those pages from my day to day life has been really great and I recommend if you follow someone or a page only because you feel like you 'have to', or if follow someone because you are jealous of them and want to stalk their life and compare it to your own or if you follow them and they make you feel bad about yourself..don't do it to yourself, it's not good for your health. Comparing, analysing and having that negative energy around, especially if you are on social media a lot can affect your happiness and you just don't want or need that.

Some people aren't affected by social media & some are and thats totally okay because we all see things differently. It's made quite a positive difference to my life as social media is what my work revolves around & I wanted to be working within healthy, positive surroundings whilst online. So now I follow pages that bring positivity into my day, ones I can learn from, ones that really interest me & ones that add that little bit of extra of happiness into my social media presence!

WHAT TO DO ON VALENTINES DAY

Every year on the week or two leading up to Valentines Day & the actual day itself my social media feeds fill up with posts about being lonely, single or posts of what people in a relationship have received or are doing. I am all for sharing the love don't get me wrong, but I think keeping it simple & not over sharing is the way to go about it.. spend the time in the moment without thinking you have to share it on social media.

So I'm bringing Valentines Day up in a positive light in the hopes of helping anyone out there that might feel negatively about the day & if you do thats totally okay too.. but just listen for a sec and if it's still not for you, thats okay too, no pressure!

The past couple of Valentines Day's I haven't been able to spend with Jays as he's been away for work..the first time I was a little bummed, but then I turned my thoughts around & thought about the day as just sharing the love day (& not just on the internet). I feel sharing the day telling your loved ones you love them, spending time with a friend or family member you haven't in a while or just taking some time in the day for yourself to get a massage or do something that makes you happy!

WHAT TO DO ON VALENTINES DAY

I have complied a bunch of things to do on Valentine's Day that could be done with your lover, your friend, your mum or just you!

Do a Photo Shoot: Organise a photo shoot with a photographer or just have fun & take some snaps with your partner, some friends or have some photo's taken of yourself for your partner or a keepsake for yourself.

Go to the movies or hire a dvd: Head to the movies & see your favorite kind of movie or hire out a dvd. Oh and if you are into the kinky stuff Fifty Shades of Grey is in cinemas this weekend too.

Pamper Day: Pamper yourself and get a massage a relaxing massage, have your nails done or get your hair washed & blow-dried.

Go to the beach: head to the beach for some sunshine, fresh air & fun in the sun.

Get outdoors explore: Head on an adventure hiking, on a road trip to somewhere new or one of your favorite places.

Write a card or letter: Writing a letter or card saying how wonderful someone is to you, let them know how great they are & what they mean to you.

Have a picnic: Pack a delicious lunch or dinner and head to the park, beach or if the weather isn't great have a picnic on your living room floor with candles.

Gift some flowers: Giving flowers is a really beautiful sentiment! Another great idea would be to gift some flowers in a cute pot plant so the flowers live on.

How ever your spend your Valentine's Day remember to share the love with a loved one! x

As I sit here attempting to tell you about my exciting new venture I am nearly getting blown away by my ceiling fan! I think I may have mentioned before that our air-con poop'd itself here at home so we have to do the old fashioned thing and turn on the fans when it's hot.. and WOW it's been pretty stinking hot the past couple of days & the fans seem to be producing hot air not cold (and yep I've checked the winter/summer switch on top & it's definitely on the right one!)

Okay so now onto my exciting new venture!! Ahh!! Here goes.. So I am super excited & slightly nervous to let you know that I have jumped onboard the video blogging train (vlogging) & you can listen, watch & giggle at me down below. I'd dreamed of bringing this to the blog for a while but didn't have the best camera to do so.. I've recently upgrade my camera (yay!) and I will be growing my filming equipment to bring better quality videos to you soon!

In this Vlog as they call it, I thought I would let you in on my creative process when it comes to styling one of my photo shoots. I thought it was only fitting to chat about styling swimwear being so hot & these gorgeous Illias kini's have been perfect for keeping me cool! Please bare with me as I get used to talking to a camera, my nerves definitely got the better of me & I repeated myself quite a lot (Ummmm & soooo haha)
I feel I can only get better with time right?!

Time to get excited as Summer is officially five days away here in Australia.. it actually already  feels a bit like Summer has hit our shores being so warm, but it just isn't official until it's officially, official (wow that was a tongue twister!). Incase you didn't already know I love Summer, it is most definitely one of my favorite seasons.. warm weather, beach days, summer fruits, balmy nights & the list goes on as to why it's so damn great.. which also includes hanging out down at the beach in bikinis because it is way too hot to do anything else.. which might be the case this Summer as our airconditoner has officially broken!

Em and I had a bunch of fun down on the beach shooting in Eurvin swimwear recently.. it was a crazy windy day but we made the most of the sunshine & had some fun snapping these shots on a hot afternoon to feature out favorite styles.

THE ONE PIECE

"WE MUST TAKE ADVENTURES IN ORDER TO KNOW WHERE WE TRULY BELONG".

The weekend is almost upon us and I am really hoping to get some beach action in this weekend.. fingers & toes crossed for some beautiful beachy weather, pretty please Mr weather man!

Many people see a one piece as only what mature women or little girls wear to frolic at the beach or lay by the pool. But today I am telling you this is not the case anymore.. I work in swimwear and love seeing the range of women buying one pieces in recent seasons. I'm talking teenagers, young adults & women of all walks of life and why you may ask? Because they are ultra classy, they hold everything in, they are flattering when you get the right fit for you and can double as a playsuit or top for an outfit.

My one piece collection has definitely started to grow over the past few summers & I can't wait to find more styles.. Bring on summer!!
