A few months ago now I had the fun of collaborating and working with the energetic & inspiring Zova team.. we woke up super early one morning (in the middle of winter).. it was absolutley freezing!! but well worth it to watch the most incredible sunrise with jumping dolphins included. I had so much fun shooting with the team for the launch video..including working with the ever talented Paul Giggle who made the video come to life.  See if you can spot me!

Now that the weather is heating up here at home it means getting outdoors & getting active is something I am doing a lot more frequently! It's really great that day light savings too gives that extra time in the afternoon to get outside & do things.. summer is in the air! I love going for afternoon bike rides in my local area or for a run along the beach.

The gym can be for some people & not for others so taking to the outdoors & using it as your outdoor exercise playground is a great way to stay healthy & save money too. Another huge plus is that research states that exercising outdoors helps to maintain good mental health swell as staying fit!

Do you want to know what I am currently obsessing over when I am out shopping.. I seem to stop at anything that is mint coloured… not really sure why but it's a really fresh, clean colour..like toothpaste I suppose.. haha okay too far! But seriously I love mint right now! 

I just got some new runners & workout gear by Puma in some mint tones and I am pretty damn excited!! It's always really motivating throwing on some new workout gear, I don't know what it is but it just makes you feel like you can work a little harder, run a little further.. Maybe it's the the fresh new clothes, fresh new day & the new out look on taking on the days fitness challenges. Whatever it is I like it! And to be honest I found this pair of black tights tucked into the bottom of my draw and was pretty excited to throw them on too, they are oldies but goodies!

In other news I was quite shocked to see on my Facebook just last night my favorite walking spot Burleigh Hill was hit with a bushfire (you can see the article here). It is really devastating to see this has happened; as it is a national park and so much wildlife would have been affected by the fire and now some of their homes are lost. Thinking forward in time the tree's will grow back and hopefully the wildlife will relocate into new homes & all will be well again!

FORCE OF NATURE

I am absolutely loving this beautiful Spring weather that has hit our Aussie shores.. warm sunny days, cool nights.. ah bliss!! I've also noticed I have a lot more energy now Spring has sprung, I want to eat lighter meals and be active a lot more, my mood has even lifted.. this is no doubt the result of eating lighter and being more active..the warmer weather to me is just..the best!

My bestie Kate wrote an interview post over on her blog about ways to support our bodies through Spring.. I found it really insightful and relatable and wanted to share with all you lovely people too.. because sharing is caring!

I also thought I would share a couple of my favorite simple workouts that I have been enjoying lately as I have felt more motivation to get back into the swing of more exercise during the week!  Exercise 1: The Leg Slimming Pilates Butt & Thigh Workout & Exercise 2: Lower Body Workout 
I love doing online video workouts some days, or going for a walk or run others.. it just depends on what I have on and what I feel like doing. I suggest finding what exercise work best for you and fit them into your day with scheduling the time into your diary.

STEP BY STEP

I was out having lunch with Mum recently and she said something that sparked my interest.. something that has always been something that I believe in and try my best to live up to even though it is hard at times. This one thing is something many or most of us go through in our lives. Somedays we still struggle to live up to not letting it get to us & we have those days when we do let it get to us because we might be feeling down, we may have seen something that really made us feel crap or someone may have said something to us that just wasn't nice.

Your saying "okay, yeah I bet I can relate to what your saying but hurry up and tell us what your on about.." What I am talking about is the way we can (my hand is up here) let what other people say or do something get to us! Letting something change our positive perception of ourselves. Mum comes into this because she is genuinely one of those women who doesn't give a crap what people think about her or what she does and I love that about her. We were chatting about life in general and me in one of those moods worrying about what the 'critics think' and she said something along the lines of "You shouldn't give a crap about what anyone else thinks of you, its none of their business".

For some it isn't as easy as waking up one day and deciding that you will give zero craps about what anyone thinks of you. It can be tough to break out of that way of worrying about these thoughts. As I feel in today's society and most definitely in the industries I work within it is all about what I look like, what I do, how I act etc. I have definitely come a long way from about 5 years ago when I decided to take charge of my life and start living a healthier more positive lifestyle & putting myself around people who impacted me positively and removed any negativity from my life.

I admit I do still have moments when I might wonder what others think of me or someone will say something nasty that I let get to me.. I feel that is only normal and I guess the best way I know to pick myself up from it is think of what Mum says "Who gives a crap" excuse the language but it's totally relevant here! Always remind yourself that you are you, its your choice to be the person you want to be, no one else's.. I am always much happier when I don't care what anyone else thinks of me, what they think is irrelevant to my happiness.

As most of you know I recently published my first E-book called Be You, Be True if you haven't had the chance to read it yet it contains information inside that I have used on my journey to help me gain self confidence, how I've learnt to be more positive & everything in between that shapes me. We are all human that is one thing that we have in common (unless you are a super powered cat and you have learnt how to open your owners computer and read my blog, no judgement here.. okay maybe a little off topic? haha).

All in all we have our down days, we have amazing days we all have those days where we need a little extra help to get back to our posititve happy self, to remember we are better than anything nasty anyones ever said to us. Today if you take the step in the direction of not worrying about what anyone else thinks of you and start thinking about yourself positively you'll be much happier for it!

LORNA JANE: SPORTY SISTER OF THE WEEK

Last week I had the great pleasure (I am still feeling overwhelmed) of being interviewed by one of my favorite sportswear labels for their beautiful blog Move Nourish Believe  ..If those words sound familiar to you it's because I am talking about the one & only Lorna Jane. This brand isn't just a sportswear label, they are a movement on a mission to empower women to lead their best life through active living.

I was truly honoured to be interviewed by a brand I know, wear, love & believe in what they they stand for. As I mention in my interview, I wasn't always the healthiest version of myself for many years. It has taken me time to get to where I am today and I am still finding new ways to improve my health & happiness every single day.

Every person has different goals, different motivation & different body shapes.. We all have a vision in mind of the person we want to be and sometimes we need help along the way to reach our goals & get to where we want to be. 

I love to be inspired by other active living women & women on a path of wellness for their mind  & body.. There are so many other amazing women on the blog talking about their journey, up's, downs, life & everything in-between.. Women of all walks of life, different fitness levels & different ways of making the most out of life.
