REAL LIFE BEAUTY

www.jeskaalee.com

A lot of you may have read a little about my self love journey over the years here on my blog or over on my Instagram or you may be tuning in right now for the very first time. Self love for me is something I work on every day and it can some days be super easy and then some days well, not so much.. depending on what life throws my way!

I think many of us can agree this day and age we can be very much affected by the world of social media and the images thrown at us ranging from insta models, to people in magazines, to people we see on tv and even things said verbally in real life (Yup there is a real world not just the social media one). All of these factors can really sway the way we feel about ourselves if we let it and I can put my hand up and say in the past it really affected me and some days I do still catch myself comparing myself to others.

Comparing your journey or comparing yourself with another can be unhealthy and an unrealistic goal as a lot of what we see in the media and social world is skewed to look "perfect" and altered from reality.. not all, but a lot of it! Now I am not saying you can't look up to people and be inspired by people you see online as I am inspired everyday by different people I follow but it is not my goal to be them, or have their life.. I take cue from their positive vibes, get inspired by their way of life and put that positive energy into my own. For me if I find myself feeling affected by someone I just stop following or remove them from my physical world or I change the way I view them.

This visual generation we are in has taught a lot of us to only focus on the physicals of people rather than focusing on the beauty of personality, the beauty of thought and the beauty of the heart all combined. It might sound corny but I think the world is better with a little corny and a little old school.

Audrey Hepburn nailed beauty on the head with this quote.. "The beauty of a woman is not in her clothes she wears, the future that she carries, or the way she her combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eye, because the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows and the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years".

My message to you today is to embrace your own beauty and work toward becoming the best version of yourself.. I wrote an E-book a while back now but it's free and it may help you if you are struggling with the above situation!

LET'S BE REAL

www.jeskaalee.com

I was recently having a little scroll through my Facebook feed this week past at all the cute puppy videos and people making fools of themselves on youtube clips (which I must admit they do keep me a little entertained and can brighten my day).. But I am bringing my procrastination on Facebook to light for a reason as it does sometimes lead to some really interesting articles shared by my friends of friends of friends.. you catch my drift.

Without continuing to beat around the bush I am getting straight to it.. I came across a a video post about Anxiety "Things About Anxiety Noone Talks About" and so that is what I am dedicating this post to. I for one have suffered from anxiety and still do on occasion and I am more than happy to openly speak about it if it will help someone else out with the same or similar struggle. I am me and if people can't accept the real me then they do not deserve a space in my world full stop.

This is the link to the video I saw on Facebook and I feel it definitely pin points what anxiety can feel like.. if you are feeling those things there is nothing wrong with you and you definitley are not alone!

I used to be scared, ashamed or embarrassed to have anxiety and would do anything in my power to avoid admitting that it was a part of my life. A lot of you reading this can probably relate to this feeling even if not for anxiety but for something similar that hangs over you that you may not be proud of, or you do not have the courage to admit to yourself.

The key for myself was admitting it to myself.. not anyone else, but me. I had to come to terms that it was something real and something that I needed to learn how to deal with. I had to want to help myself so that I could understand myself more and understand why I was feeling the way I was feeling. At first I just spoke with my mum about it as she has also suffered from anxiety from time to time so I knew she would understand and a couple of close friends.. But it still didn't completely stop me from having those thoughts and feelings.

It got to a point where I felt as though I had to speak to someone who wasn't a part of my world, someone who had no idea who I was but would be able to help me take control.. I built up the courage, I got a referral and I opened up to a therapist about how I was feeling and asked her to help me figure out the best way to understand how I was feeling and the best ways to deal with it. The main thing I learnt was that anxiety does not define me as a person, it was just something that I had to learn to deal with and so that is what I did with a little extra help from someone who had an understanding of what I was going through whom had the right advice, experience and tools to help me out.

I now kick myself for putting off chatting to a therapist for so long as I was scared to admit it to myself or worried about what other people would think but it was one of the best things that I could have done for myself - I now have a better understanding of anxiety, myself and the best way to deal with it if it pops up and I am not ashamed to speak about it as it really isn't a shameful thing!

Remember you are never alone in how you are feeling.. someone will always be able to relate to you, someone will always be able to help you, someone will always be there to listen to you. You just need to take that very first step to ask for help so you can learn to be the best version of you.. Always be real with yourself and live your truth!

Oh and PS// Another blogger I love to follow Jessica Emily also recently opened up about her experience with anxiety and depression here  ..Go girl, lets make it okay to talk about this stuff!

BE YOURSELF

"ONE OF THE BEST DAYS IN YOUR LIFE IS WHEN YOU STOP CARING ABOUT WHAT EVERYONE THINKS ABOUT YOU AND YOU START CARING ABOUT BEING YOURSELF".

This post topic has come up quite a few times with friends of late in conversation and it is something that really resonates with me. About two or three years ago now when I initially started my journey blogging is when I started to realise that not caring about what others think about me is the best way to take on my life!

If you know me personally or follow me via my Snapchat stories (@jeskaaleee) you will know I like to be just a tad silly and well probably occasionally weird.. I am so okay with that as I love having fun, being ridiculous and making people laugh..and I generally laugh at myself too.. because why not!

In the past I used to be quite conscious about what others would think of me because I felt as though I needed to be a certain way in their eyes rather then staying true to myself.

My advice to anyone who is feeling self conscious or unsure of themselves.. Take a moment and ask yourself if you are worried about someone else's opinion of you and if their opinion of you doesn't fit what they see as great than their opinion shouldn't be taken into consideration. Surround yourself with people who love you for you and learn to love and be yourself without worrying about others opinions.

You are uniquely you, embrace it!

SEASON OF CHANGE

www.jeskaalee.com

Just as the seasons change undoubtedly every year so do our lives; whether these be small unnoticeable changes or large ones that impact our lives in ways we would never imagine. I am a strong believer in everything happens for a reason, although I may not always know the reason for it I believe it! Life happens whether we are ready for it or not ..at times to teach us lessons, to help us grow and to lead us on the path we are destined for.

"LIKE A RIVER FLOWS SO SURELY TO THE SEA MY DARLING SO IT GOES SOME THINGS ARE MEANT TO BE".

If you read my blog regularly you may have noticed I have not been posting on here for quite a while and I apologise for not being able to keep it up to date as I love sharing with you all.

Recently I found myself in a situation where I had to put myself first and listen to my heart and my head and so in the name of change one of those life changing, stressful, challenging, crazy moments impacted me and my life unexpectedly and I had to take the time for myself to get myself together. I am still not exactly where I want to be personally but I am working on getting my happiness back on track and I aim to try my very best to figure out exactly what it is that I want.

Now I know some of you will want to know details but I won't go into them here as I feel some things are best kept personal and not plastered all over the world wide web. If you have had a life changing moment impact you or even a small change shift your direction I would love to have a chat and get your advice or I'd love to just listen here.

I will be trying my best to get back to regular blogging of outfit posts, tips and all the fun stuff here on the blog as I enjoy sharing these things with you all.

TAKE A BREATH

The serenity was breath taking the afternoon I shot this look with Mum down by our local creek..only a slight cool breeze in the air & the way the afternoon sunshine hit the water was truly beautiful. I really enjoyed taking in my surroundings as we snapped this for the blog, it was really special.

I am sure I am not alone when I say I have been putting too much on my plate of things to do lately and feeling a little stressed as all my jobs, blogging & social life have been quite busy over the past few weeks and I have been wearing myself thin. I am going to be taking a breather just for the next week or so to get my head back in the game and get myself feeling fresh again to bring you beautiful people some fun, insightful & fashionable content.

Not to worry I will still be over on my Instagram @jeskaalee so you can catch all my going's on over there for the time being! Remember it's totally okay to take some time out if you are feeling stressed or like you just need to take a breath or break from something.

HEALTHY CHOCOLATE MOUSSE

www.jeskaalee.com
www.jeskaalee.com

Most of us crave something whether it be sweet or savoury am I right? For me I crave chocolate, usually dark chocolate (the good stuff) and if I am presented with chocolate I usually never turn it down.. it's just so good! I even got a little (a lot) excited when I discovered that a square of dark chocolate a day can assist with decreasing stress..score!

In this post I am introducing a product I recently tried out and I am in love.. D.I.Y chocolate dream mousse that is easy as adding water and stirring.. yep that easy (Oh and I added some crushed almonds because they are delish too). Simply Natural Protein Mousse is a super easy snack, treat or dessert for any time of day I say. A huge plus is the mousse is also non GMO, gluten free, hypo allergenic.

The Simply Natural company formulate, manufacture and provide and innovative range of 100% natural solutions to your health and nutritional problems. They are also 100% Aussie owned and manufactured (Big Plus!) and they demand truth in labelling, quality of product whilst bringing out only innovative products.. have I got you interested? Head to their website to check out their products for yourself and do your taste buds a favour!

I cannot wait to try out the Tiramisu Dream & Choc Coconut mousse next. Oh and nope I didn't share with Baxter but he thought it smelt really good and just wanted to steal some and photobomb because he is a cheeky rat!
