Sometimes it is necessary to take the steps to flush out any negativity in your world! I've been doing it for a while now and focusing my energy on the things that are positive within my life.. it is so much better for your health, trust me!

Some may find this silly or insignificant but a little while ago I decided to stop following any people or pages I felt were not supporting my happiness or purpose on social media as it is part of my life using instagram for my job everyday. I felt at first "Oh but what if they see I've un-followed them and they think I hate them?" I thought about it more and It's just not like that and I think we all can get sick of following certain pages at times. So I feel that if they are no longer serving our happiness or providing a purpose to us then why follow them we shouldn't have to worry or feel stressed about hitting the unfollow button.

I decided to unfollow some pages that I'd followed in the past just recently because their pages were no longer brining happiness or positivity to my life. Removing those pages from my day to day life has been really great and I recommend if you follow someone or a page only because you feel like you 'have to', or if follow someone because you are jealous of them and want to stalk their life and compare it to your own or if you follow them and they make you feel bad about yourself..don't do it to yourself, it's not good for your health. Comparing, analysing and having that negative energy around, especially if you are on social media a lot can affect your happiness and you just don't want or need that.

Some people aren't affected by social media & some are and thats totally okay because we all see things differently. It's made quite a positive difference to my life as social media is what my work revolves around & I wanted to be working within healthy, positive surroundings whilst online. So now I follow pages that bring positivity into my day, ones I can learn from, ones that really interest me & ones that add that little bit of extra of happiness into my social media presence!

I am baccck and holy moly Port Douglas has some breath taking views just about every way you look! In today's post I wanted to share a few images from one of our days of exploration. I was mesmerised by a symmetrical maze of palm trees just off the highway on the drive into Port Douglas. I quite literally am obsessed with anything tropical, so to come across this field I was literally jumping & running around with joy! The most incredible tall palms with leaves glistening in the sunshine & coconuts!

We also set out on a road trip to check out a few places including a crocodile farm on this day as we were lucky to get a full day of sunshine. Driving along the highway from Cairns to Port Douglas is endless ocean views on one side & mountains on the other.. I couldn't take my eyes off the beautiful turquoise water.. I really don't feel the pictures do it justice; you have to physcially be there, in the moment to view it & experience it yourself but the images definitely give you an idea of some of the views we took in on our trip.

We were also very, very lucky as the weather report for our time away was pretty much 80% chance of rain every single day as it is actually Port Douglas' wet season.. Uh! But we had a sprinkle on the day we arrived and then lucked out with a few days of sunshine.. thank you mother nature! The locals told us a huge lot of rain and storms had just been through town a couple of days earlier!

We had so much fun exploring & taking the time to relax and enjoy each others company for our anniversary. We also enjoyed eating copious amounts of delicious food & a few cocktails too.. We are definitely planning to head back up that way in the near future. Once I go through more photos I will be sure to post more here on the blog.

SOME OF OUR FAVORITE PLACES

THE GREAT BARRIER REEF
We were so excited to check out The Great Barrier Reef with out own eyes.. even more excited that it is one of the great natural wonders of the world. We went on a day tour with Quicksilver Cruises. We snorkelled & went in a semi-submersible boat to view the coral & all of i's beautiful creatures with a delicious seafood lunch included.

WATERGATE
The Watergate restaurant was one of our favorite places to wine & dine at. The food was delicious, they catered for gluten & diary intolerances & the staff were super friendly. It was also surround by palms.. how could I not like it haha.

PORT DOUGLAS LOOKOUT
The walk up the hill to the lookout gave us some cardio a couple of mornings to burn off our delicious meals but the view at the top is a stunning view of local Four Mile Beach & it also looks like an Iron Man man  fan lives in the house at the top too!

PALM TREE FIELD
As you know from up above I was amazed by this and it wasn't even a tour, it was free for all! If you love palm tree's as much as I do this is a must stop.

ROSE & BOY BOUTIQUE
When I arrived in Port Douglas I posted a photo & the girls at Rose & Boy Boutique saw I was in town & posted some cute instagram photos trying to spot me in town. They have some really beautiful brands in store & gorgeous on trend pieces. I headed into the store on our last day in town and met the lovely Karlie and bought myself a pair of Le Specs sunnies. Thanks girls! x

#ILLRIDEWITHYOU

My social media has had a huge influx of news articles floating around regarding the siege in Sydney earlier this week. I found out about it firstly from a girlfriend texting me saying are you watching the news?! I was out at the shops starting my Christmas shopping and hadn't really been on Facebook or instagram that day.. she told me what was happening.. I was in shock that something like this was happening in Australia.. it was quite a scary thing to find out!

There seems to be a world of crime going on though all over the place not just in Australia and we see it in the news every day. In saying this I felt for something to be so spoken about all over social media & to see the footage of it while it was actually happening made it feel so much more real & close to home and the thought that someone I know could be being held hostage or in that area made it even more terrifying.

I've seen people angry, upset, scared posting to social media to spread awareness, to talk out their feelings or have there say in the goings on. It's great to see Australians standing up & speaking out about these situations to spread awareness & to fight for what we believe in.

The #illridewithyou message is what has stood out to me most.. The hashtag seems to have started from a lady called Rachael Jacobs who was riding on a train and noticed a Muslim women take off her head covering after finding out about the situation in Sydney. Rachael said in her post "I ran after her at the train station. I said 'put it back on. I'll walk with u." It's really beautiful to see someone stand up for this woman and let her know that she was not alone & not judged upon this man's doing.

My thought's and prayers go out to the families affected by this horrible situation & may the people who lost their lives rest in peace. x
