I woke up this morning to a cold snap and I ideally wanted to snuggle in my cozy blankets a little longer but worked beckoned so I made myself get up (slowly). I was struck down with a horrible virus/fever last night..cramping, aches, headache and nausea.. I don't get sick too often which is a plus but I am happy to say I am feeling a little better this morning..fingers crossed it was a 24hr thing and I don't continue to feel that way.

Today I am featuring the winter cape.. a blanket style cardigan one could say. I actually put this very Forever New ebony cape on this morning when I peeled myself away from my warm bed (it's not even winter yet, I'm just being a sook). Anyways what I am wanting to say is It's the perfect piece for being cozy at home or heading out on a cooler day or night and also being comfortablely fashionable! I styled it here quite casually with fitted denim jeans and then added a heeled boot to make it a little more dressy.. casual chic?

I've recently had something new come into my life.. you know that moment when you get introduced to something you've never tried before or you've always wanted to but never been able to or maybe you've been a bit hesitant to give it a go because you just weren't sure about it. That was me and the pointed flat shoe a few weeks ago.. before these gorgeous flat points by Montanna Shoes turned up in the mail.

I once thought the pointed shoe was a little to 'witchy' for my liking (maybe I watch to many Harry Potty Films). As soon as I tried these new flats on I was hooked.. they made my casual outfit look dressy and chic without aching feet from wearing heels all day. So all in all I feel that you should definitely give the pointed flat a go this winter if you never have before.. and step outside your boundaries and try something a little different once in a while you may be shocked at how much you like it, just give it a chance (This applies to more than shoes too)!

A big Happy Easter to you all.. I hope that you are all getting to enjoy some time with family and friends or doing something that you love whether it be traditional Easter services, enjoying some chocolate (mmmm) or just doing something fun!

EASTER TREATS

www.jeskaalee.com

I cannot believe we are into April today… the days are flying by! As you may have learnt from my recent post here I am slightly addicted to chocolate, especially anything of the dark kind (oh and I definitely never say no to a ferrero rocher, no matter how bad they are for me, they are just so yummy!). I don't go and eat a whole huge packet or anything like that but I do fancy a square or two nearly ever day, usually I crave something sweet to enjoy with my tea of a night time.

Easter is pretty much just around the corner (in a couple of days to be exact) and to a lot of us that means a little indulgence in some chocolate goodness.. yes please! I was recently reading the Move Nourish Believe Blog after I received one of their newsletters and they are always onto it with delicious healthy recipes! So I wanted to share a few I came across and loved from their blog that would be perfect for you to recreate for your easter weekend with fam or friends or when you are craving some chocolate!

I have been talking about this trend quite a lot lately in my recent posts here and over here. I also mentioned that I have been a little hesitant to wear flared style jeans or pants in the past as I have memories of wearing them when I was younger back in high school and they were just really untrendy when I look back at how I dressed.. probably because I was really untrendy and had no clue about fashion haha.

Recently I dared myself to be a little more daring and picked up these Boo Hoo looser style flared trousers in my fave print stripe (yep I'm addicted to stripes) in hopes that the print may help me like them.. and guess what I love them! They are so comfortable and no restrictive which makes them so good for an array of activities. I also love that these ones are quite long to the ground (when I have no shoes on) being quite tall I can never find a pair that quite sit right.

If you haven't given the flare trousers, jeans or pants a go I say try on a few different styles and go with what is most flattering on your shape and style.. Oh and don't just wear something because its trendy you have to love it & feel great in it!

PS. Speaking of flared pants I was lucky enough to meet one of my favorite bloggers the ever inspiring Sara Donaldson of Harper & Harley at the Pacific Fair A/W 15' fashion launch breakfast on Friday morning. She makes flared pants look all things amazing, see below for yourself! I also met some other amazing bloggers including Rachele Edson from Zest Fashion Blog & Aicha Robertson of The Fashion Heist both Brisbane gals and oh so lovely!

The streets are always a wonderful place to find inspiration for your day to day wear and yes I mean inspiration not imitation. Some people see getting inspiration from other people, magazines or bloggers as imitation but that is not necessarily true. I mean yes if you create the exact same outfit (even brands) than you may need to find a little more originality. The inspiration I am talking is seeking different texture ideas, styling two colours or prints that work together, pairing denim with camel or stripes back with grey (the list goes on and on) all to suit your own personal style.

Of late in my downtime I have been browsing through Pinterest and pinning away some inspiration for myself into my fashion board.. as you know it is one of my favorite things to do.. so much inspiration, so little time! It's exciting to see new and old trends and thinking about the cooler months to come and how I may style myself. I feel like I will be sporting a lot of coats, denim, heeled boots & cozy knits. I also see myself wearing stripes, checks, camel, grey, khaki, navy and maroon tones & even the occasional pop of colour for the fun of it!

SUMMER MEMORIES

"LIVE IN THE SUNSHINE, SWIM IN THE SEA, DRINK THE WILD AIR". – RALPH WALDO EMERSON

www.jeskaalee.com

As I sit here and write this morning sipping on green mint tea and listening to the rain trickle down my window it dawns on me that Summer has been gone now for eighteen days.. (say what!) Although it has felt like Summer here on the Gold Coast these past few weeks with hot days and humidity still.. the nights have been feeling much cooler and the sun is rising much later each morning.

Summer is one of my favorite seasons, in all it's carefree, sun filled, hot, happy glory! (ahh come back!). Now don't get me wrong I love different things about each season for sure..winter fashion and getting cozy in warm blankets on cold days and nights..dreamy! But I am most fond of the Summertime and love to keep it's memory fresh in my mind each year.

For me to keep it alive I love having photographs, ornaments and bits and pieces around my home that remind me of the Summer that was.. so on those gloomy cooler days when my toes just can't get warm I can take my mind to that beautiful warm blissful place & bask in all its memorable glory. (plus play 'Im walking on sunshine in the background" haha).

KEEPING SUMMER MEMORIES

A few tips on how to keep those Summertime memories alive:

Memory Box: Having a box full of memories of everything that made your Summer special and pulling it out when you need to refresh or dream. Fill it with polaroids, shells, precious gifts, letters, poems or whatever was special to you.

Photographs: Polaroids or photographs in frames on pinned into a board in your home can brighten your day each time you walk past them. Picture Postie is an app that creates beautiful printed memories straight from your Instagram feed, they are the modern day polaroid.

Memories In A Jar: Filling a jar with sand and shells from your local beach and having it on display in your home as a centre piece or bedside decoration.

Seaside Styling: Style you home with the beach in mind.. think anchors, stripes, coral ornaments and the list goes on to suit your style.

Music: One of my favourite ways of evoking memories and emotion is listening to music. It has a way of bringing you back to a certain moment as though you are actually there in your mind.
